This is a hand crafted Libyan Desert Glass Pendant. The glass is drilled and set with a .925 silver bail. The total weight including bail is 9.30grams/46.50ct. The Libyan Desert Glass is A+ quality, gemmy, thin, polished, and light responsive. The bail is hand swirled and is non-intrusive making this sturdy design an excellent pendant + meditation piece. The bail of this pendant is handcrafted by a long time New England artisan, Sussy Rose Shields.

Interest in Libyan Desert Glass ( LDG ) has recently increased significantly. LDG is often used along with moldavite for the combined, amplified energy of these 2 tektites.

Libyan desert glass is the name given to fragments of canary-yellow glass found scattered over hundreds of kilometers, between giant shifting sand dunes in the eastern Sahara Desert. Interest in Libyan desert glass goes back more than 3,000 years. Among items recovered from King Tut’s burial chamber sits a gold and jeweled breast plate. In the center sits a beautiful scarab beetle, carved from Libyan desert glass.
