This is a hand crafted Tumbled Moldavite + Libyan Desert Glass ( LDG ) Pendant. The LDG is drilled and set with wrapped moldavite using a 14k Gold filled bail. The moldavite cage is free set to dangle. The gold wrap is heavier gauge and flattened around the moldavite for a truly unique style. Total weight including bail is 10.25 grams/51.25ct.
The Libyan Desert Glass is A+ quality, gemmy, thin, polished, and light responsive. The tumbled moldavite is ~ .8 grams. Both of these crystals are inclusion filled and show nice variation of translucency when exposed to light. The LDG crystal has a darkened naturally weathered area near the bail
Bail is non-intrusive making this sturdy design an excellent pendant + meditation piece. The bail of this pendant is handcrafted by long time New England artisan, Sussy Rose Shields.
Tumbled moldavite is the easiest to verify for authenticity. This piece is full of visible air bubbles and inclusions. Also, tumbled moldavite is getting less common as raw moldavite prices have risen.
